特征：多年生草本。根状茎细长，匍匐多枝，外被褐色纤维。叶线形，基部为退化成鞘状的叶片所包。
花：花茎从叶中抽出；佛焰苞膜质，披针形，边缘红紫色，具1-2朵花。花浅蓝色或蓝色，具蓝紫色条纹和斑点，外轮花被片倒披针形或宽卵形，内轮花被片披针形，花柱花瓣状深紫红色，柱头三角形，子房尖三角形。花期5-6月。
果：蒴果短而圆，种子球形，具白色突起物。果期6-7月。
生境：生于山坡草地。
产地：北京见于海淀、房山、门头沟、密云等区县。分布于东北、山西、河北、新疆、四川、云南、西藏、江苏等省。俄罗斯、朝鲜也有分布。
用途：栽培供观赏。
