| 食蚊鱼 Gambusia affinis；mosquitofish 鳉形目鳉亚目胎鳉科食蚊鱼属的一种。体长形，略侧扁，长仅15.5～37.5毫米。雄鱼稍细长；雌鱼腹缘圆凸。头宽短，前部平扁。吻短。眼大，眼间隔宽平。口小，上位，口裂横直。齿细小。头和身体均被圆鳞。无侧线。雄鱼臀鳍第三～五鳍条延长，变形为输精器。尾鳍圆形。原产美国东南部、墨西哥及古巴，因对消灭疟蚊及其他蚊子的幼虫有一定作用，而被一些国家移殖。1935年引入中国。为小型淡水鱼类。喜生活于缓静水或流水体的表层。通常雌鱼大于雄鱼。卵胎生。仔鱼产出后即能活泼游泳，其体长约5毫米。仔鱼以轮虫类为食。成鱼因吞食孑孓而成为蚊虫的天敌。亦作观赏鱼，无食用价值。 |
