性质:是利用射线穿透物体来发现物体内部缺陷的探伤方法。射线能使胶片感光或激发某些材料发出荧光。射线在穿透物体过程中按一定的规律衰减,利用衰减程度与射线感光或激发荧光的关系可检查物体内部的缺陷。射线探伤分为X射线探伤、γ射线探伤、高能射线探伤和中子射线探伤。射线对人体是有害的。探伤作业时,应遵守有关安全操作规程,应采取必要的防护措施。X射线探伤装置的工作电压高达数万伏乃至数十万伏,作业时应注意高压的危险。
