【植物形态】
水蕨 -年生水生草本，高30～80厘米，绿色，多汁。根茎短而直立，以须根固着于淤泥中。叶2型，无毛，不育叶的柄长10～40厘米，圆柱形，肉质，叶片直立或漂浮，狭矩圆形，长10～30厘米，宽5～15厘米，2～4回深羽裂，末回裂片披针形，宽约6毫米；能育叶较大，矩圆形或卵状三角形，长15～40厘米，宽10～22厘米，2～3回羽状深裂，末回裂片条形，角果状，宽约2毫米。边缘薄而透明，反卷达于主脉，主脉两侧的小脉联结成网，无内藏小脉。孢子囊沿能育叶裂片的网脉着生，稀疏，棕色，幼时为反卷的叶缘覆盖，成熟后多少张开。 生于池沼、水田或水沟的淤泥中。分布江苏、浙江、福建、台湾、广东、广西、云南、四川、湖北和安徽等地。
