本论文在前人的研究基础上,以百鸡术——百鸡类问题的解算方法——的历史为研究对象,通过对相关古算文献的系统梳理,特别是对明代王文素的《算学宝鉴》(1524)、李之藻与利玛窦编译的《同文算指》(1614)、清代李长茂的《算海说详》(1659),以及意大利斐波那契的《计算之书》(1202)等数学原典所载相关算题进行了深入研究,在对“百鸡术”各类算法变式的专题分析的基础上,构勒出百鸡术的历史演变,讨论了百鸡术的中西传播与影响等相关问题。
