杂种优势(heterosis or hybrid vigor)

遗传基础不同的两个亲本杂交产生的杂种在某些性状上优于其亲本的现象。

杂种优势的表现大体上有三种类型:

①表现在远缘杂交的后代中,即杂种营养体的大小和数目、生长速度和有机物积累的强度等显著超过双亲,但是这类杂种的繁殖能力并没有提高,甚至还要低于双亲。有人称这种现象为杂种的旺势。

②表现为杂种的繁殖器官的发育优于亲本,如有较高的结实率。

③表现为进化上的优越性,如杂种的生活力、适应性、竞争能力以及其它在生存竞争中起作用的因素优于双亲。

杂种优势主要表现在杂种第一代,从第二代开始杂种优势就明显下降。

杂种优势的遗传基础在于基因的不同作用形式,这包括显性效应、累加效应、上位效应、互补作用和超显性效应。在某一材料中可能由某一种效应起主导作用,另一种材料中可能由另外一种效应起主导作用。

根据杂种优势原理,通过育种手段可以使动植物提高产量、改进品质和提高劳动生产率。
