唐山港口岸位于河北省唐山市东南80公里处的渤海湾北岸，是孙中山先生1919年《建国方略》中拟建“北方大港”的所在地，为北京、唐山两市联合建设经营的港口。按照总体规划，口岸的范围包括王滩和曹妃甸两个港区。
唐山港口岸通航以来，货物吞吐量以年增100－150万吨的速度迅速提高。2001年吞吐量突破1000万吨，跨入国家千万吨港口行列，在全国沿海主要港口中居第23万，货种包括煤炭、矿石、原盐、粮食、化肥、水泥、设备、集装箱等十多大类、数十个货种，航线通达亚、欧、美等20多个国家和地区及国内90多个港口。预计2010年吞吐能力达到2210万吨，2020年将达到3580万吨。
唐山市人民政府口岸办公室对该口岸实施口岸管理，唐山海关、河北出入境检验检疫局京唐港办事处、唐山边防检查站、唐山海事局担负口岸的检验工作，为过往人员、货物、交通工具办理出入境手续。
