In this paper, considering the retaining structure—L type retaining wall used in section from Golmud to Lhasa, Qinghai-Tibet railway,we test the earth pressure or frost-heave in a frost-thaw cycle for one year,and we study several different analytic models of earth pressures and frost-heave.

Finite element method for computations of active earth pressures acting on L-shaped retaining walls with reduced friction coefficients of base bottoms

Based on gravity retaining wall s three failure models including slippage model,overturning model and bearing capacity model,the method of reliability and sensitivity analysis for gravity retaining wall was proposed,and the corresponding program was presented through matlab.

Research purposes:This paper sums up the different types of the gravity retaining walls in the design and construction,theoretically analyzes and calculates their characteristics,and concludes the method of lectotype and the principle of arrangement for gravity retaining wall for the purpose of providing references to design,construction of it and to compiling standard drawings.

Combined with one practical works,from three aspects: geology, construction and design reasons caused the partial collapse and spallation inside of gravity retaining wall are analyzed,at the same time corresponding treatment scheme is proposed.

The paper,based on the characters that counterfort wall applies to soil filling,analyzes the stress of counterfort wall,calculates the loading,test the stability,and mentions the requirements of construction,along with the supporting structure adopted by a road leading to a local coal mine.
