| 长安街 在中国北京市区中南部，为北京市东西向主要交通干线。由东单至天安门广场为东长安街，长1751米；天安门至西单为西长安街，长1800米。车行道宽45～60米，两侧人行道各宽5米。明永乐年间，在元大都南城墙基址上改建成路，因承天门（今天安门）左侧有东长安门，右侧有西长安门，寓长治久安之意，故分别得名为东长安街、西长安街。明、清为皇城禁区。1912年拆除长安左、右门，仅余门洞，俗称三座门，东、西长安街始得贯通。1949年辟建天安门广场时，修筑长安街林荫大道。1952年拆除三座门，1954年又拆除东西长安牌楼。1959年扩建天安门广场后，东、西长安街拓宽，成为宽阔的十里长街，街道平坦宽阔，为国家庆典游行阅兵场所。西长安街北侧的中南海是中共中央、国务院所在地。沿街有贵宾楼饭店、北京饭店、电报大楼、民航大楼等。
