The important problems such as the scheme of the controlled blasting, deep-hole bench blasting, smooth blasting with lateral protecting layer and the excavation of the horizontally protecting layer of rock foundation of the permanent lock of Three Gorges Project are discussed in this paper.

The analysis results showed that relevant progress and good achievements were obtained in the smooth blasting with medium and deep boreholes,the mechanical rock breaking and mechanized operation line.

With deep bore smooth surface exploding technique and the relevant scientific management system, shaped tunnel once for all, and further more studied carefully full rock tunnel excavating method with modern machinery, in order to boosting excavating speed and development of mechanical production line, finally paving the way for building hi-production and hi-proficiency team.
