This article introduces voice group call function of GSM R system and the requirement of VGCS area to confirm location area code and the cell identity of mobile.

This paper aims at the new requirement for the transmission of point-to-multipoint voice and data at the same time, three schemes are brought forward based on the call style VGCS in existence, these schemes can be complementarities for each other in reality service, and they are suitable with the application environment of the short data transmission in Voice Group Call Service.

The article analyzed service requirements for GSM-R of China railway, and introduced GPRS service,control service of train synchronization system, mobile intelligent network service, and virtual voice group call service in detail, gave out latest progress on services testing and existed problem, and prospected further development of GSM-R applied in China railway.

The Design and Implementation of VGCS and VBS Service in GSM-R System;

Voice Group Call Service (VGCS) is a kind of communication dispatching method which is widely used into railway Marshalling stations and Hub stations , it is also one of the special services of GSM-R.
