箕山金星石砚  山东名砚。金星石产于费县与临沂县交界的箕山涧。临沂为故琅琊郡,东晋书圣王羲之故乡,故又名“羲之石”。金星石是经轻微矽化的优质泥质灰岩,含有硫化铁细品,形成遍布的金星,因而得名。上层石呈灰褐色,光泽较差,金星稍暗少见,理滑发墨较纯。中层色黑如墨,温润如玉,磨墨无声,发墨有光,金星大小相间,为金星石中上品。下层色泽如墨玉,油然光气逼人,金星闪烁夺目,但微滑,慢发墨。另有自然“虫蛀”边板石,产于溪西岸的黄土层下,为不规则板状石块,其边缘的金星经长年水溶氧化,脱落,形成虫蛀自然边。金星石的金星,其形有圆、方、三角、多角和碎星,大的如豆,小如微尘。制砚宜巧用其星,使之构成天然之趣。
