补充资料：积木式组合枪
积木式组合枪是美国工程师期通纳于1963年发明的，所以也称“期通纳枪族”。之所以称其为积木式组合枪，是由于这种枪类似于儿童智力玩具—积木。运用同样的枪械零部件，以不同的方式结合，可以迅速组成自动步枪、冲锋枪、轻机枪、重机枪、车用机枪等6种不同的枪，且使用同样的子弹。
这种积木式组合枪设计巧妙，组装快速，短时间内就可以完成不同枪之间的改装，很适合战场的需要，而且操作方便，将步枪、冲锋枪、机枪和重机枪的部件统一起来，组成一族，只要掌握一种枪的操作要领，就能使用其他几种枪。同一族内的枪，口径相同，弹药通用，零部件还能互换，便于大批生产，成本低，有利于枪支弹药的后勤供应，同时也便于维修。由于积木式组合枪具有诸多优点，所以在1966年美国一次武器展览会上一出现就受到了各国军界的关注和青睐。
