利用不同控制方法使从动件改变运动方向的机构，常与其他机构联合使用。这种机构的具体形式很多，如利用皮带、齿轮、摩擦轮、棘轮、螺旋或离合器等换向。刨床、冲床、车床和汽车等都广泛应用换向机构。图为三星齿板换向机构。当三星齿板处于位置Ⅰ时，主动齿轮通过惰轮1、2使从动齿轮反向转动;当三星齿板处于位置Ⅱ时,惰轮1与主动齿轮脱开,从动齿轮不转；当三星齿板处于位置Ⅲ时,惰轮2与主动齿轮和从动齿轮同时啮合，使从动齿轮与主动齿轮同向转动。
