为锦葵科植物小叶黄花稔的全草。
【植物形态】
小叶黄花稔 直立、分枝、亚灌木，高通常不及0.5米。叶极小，矩圆状倒卵形至倒卵形，长1～2厘米，先端凹入,截头状或浑圆，通常阔，基部楔尖，边缘有齿缺，背灰白色，密被星状柔毛。花单生于叶腋，通常具短柄，直径约8毫米；萼5裂，裂片镊合状排列；花瓣5，黄色；雄蕊多数；成熟心皮平滑或有皱纹，有短芒。花期冬季。 生于荒地路边。分布华南及西南地区。

秋后采收。
【性味】
《贵州民间药物》："性微寒，味苦辛。"
【功用主治】
清湿热，解疮毒。治痢疾，黄疸，疔疮，肿毒。 ①《贵州民间药物》："消红肿疮毒，治疔疮。" ②《广西药植名录》："清凉解毒。治刀伤，黄疸。" ③《贵州草药》："消热利湿。"
【用法与用量】
内服：煎汤，1～2两。外用：捣敷。
【选方】
①治痢疾或黄疸：牛肋筋一至二两。煎水服。 ②治疔疮：牛肋筋适量，嚼绒，敷患处。 ③治红肿疮毒：牛肋筋、鬼针草各等分，捶绒敷患处。(选方出《贵州草药》)
