天体视向速度测量 determination of astronomical radial velocity 天体相对于日心处的观测者的空间速度沿着视线方向的分量称为视向速度。按照多普勒原理,运动的光源发出的某一谱线的波长λ不同于光源静止时发出的同一谱线的波长λ0,其差值Δλ=λ-λ0取决于光源相对于观测者的视向速度v。两者的关系为:v=cΔλ/λ0,式中c为光速。如果λ>λ0,运动光源发出的光向红端移动,视向速度为正,光源远离观测者 ;反之,如果λ<λ0,运动光源发出的光向紫端移动,视向速度为负,光源接近观测者。只要拍得天体的光谱,测出谱线的波长,就可标出天体的视向速度。由于观测者实际上是在地面上进行观测,而非日心,因此,实际测量得到的视向速度值还需做一些改正,消除地球绕日公转、地球绕地月系中心的旋转和地球自转的影响。 |
