| 齿轨铁路 rack railway 为防轮轨之间粘着力不够发生滑动而采用的齿轮与齿轨相契合的铁路。齿轨线是在山区过陡的自然坡度地段代替展线与长隧道的一种方案。世界上普通轨道铁路的实际最陡坡度为70‰，齿轨的最大坡度曾达到460‰。瑞士境内齿轨铁路很多，为登山的有力工具，其中越过少女峰垭口的少女峰铁路，轨距1.0米，齿轨段最大坡度250‰。智利的瓦尔帕莱索到阿根廷布宜诺斯艾利斯的1.0米轨距国际线上，越岭方向线路直短，在山岭两侧共有13段齿轨线路，最大坡度为83‰。 |
