一种采用电子换向的直流电动机。又称无整流子电动机。这种电动机在原理上与无刷直流电动机完全相同。只是习惯上无刷直流电动机往往指的是靠直流供电的、逆变器由晶体管构成的小功率电动机。容量较大的常叫做无换向器电动机或同步电动机自控式逆变器变频调速系统。无换向器电动机有用直流供电的，称直流无换向器电动机；也有用交流供电的，称为交流无换向器电动机,或称为无换向器电机交-交系统。在大功率的无换向器电动机中，其逆变器多用晶闸管构成，所以它又称晶闸管电动机。晶闸管电动机又可分为直流晶闸管电动机和交流晶闸管电动机。
