天然拱
美国犹他州的天然拱国家公园拥有比世界上任何其他地方都要多的天然拱。一座天然拱至少应有1米宽。加上那些迟早会变成天然拱的石窗。这里有1000多座天然拱。
里本拱有15米长，现在其最狭处仅6厘米宽、30厘米厚，因此它不久便会倒坍。
此外，这里还有洞穴状结构以及以前曾属天然拱的碎石堆。
该区域从前一度是位于海平面以下的盆地。大约在3亿年以前，这里被海水淹没，积了一层盐。然后，岩石和其他物质在其顶上聚集，厚达1600米。这个重量使多处的盐堆和岩石崩裂、倒坍、后来水涌入并将较软的岩石侵蚀掉。
这里的土地太裸露，生长不出任何东西来。约翰·卫斯理·沃尔夫在19世纪60年代美国内战时曾作战受伤，1888年他在这里开办了牧场。在儿子的帮助下，他养了20年牛。至今游客仍能看到他们的小木屋和围有篱笆的养牛畜栏。
