“九. 一八”事变陈列馆是一本翻开的“台历”，矗立在 望花立交桥西北角上。台历的左面刻着“1931年 9月18日”。 台历的右面记录着事变的发生过程，历史仿佛凝固在这个日子， 中国人民永远不会忘记这个沉痛的日子。
1931年 9月18日夜里十点二十分左右，日本关东军将南满铁路柳条湖附近的一段铁轨自行炸毁，却无耻地污蔑为中国军 队破坏。并以此为借口向中国军队的驻地北大营和沈阳城发动 突然袭击，蒋介石政府把希望寄托在国联的调停上，严令中国 军队“绝对不许抵抗”，中国军队被迫撤离沈阳。沈阳城乡一 夜之间全部被日军占领。日军在占领沈阳之后不久，又相继占 据了辽、吉、黑、热河四省，东北地区被日寇的铁蹄蹂躏了十 四年之久。 为了让子孙后代永世不忘日本帝国主义给中国人民带来的苦难和耻辱，1991年沈阳市人民政府在 “柳条湖事件”发生地南二百米建起了这座陈列馆。陈列馆的内部共分三层，正厅，黑色大理石上刻 着四个大字“勿忘国耻”，它上方的时钟永远指着“九. 一八事变”发生的时间：夜10点20分。二、 三楼是“九. 一八”事变陈列展览，展览通过大量翔实的史料、图片、实物揭露了日本帝国主义制造 “九. 一八”事变的真相和在东北犯下的滔天罪行，告诫后人勿忘国耻，振兴中华。
