被测信息信号值被连续采集与传输的遥测系统。模拟式遥测系统最基本的调制方法有幅度调制、角度调制与脉冲调制。幅度调制(AM)是用被测信息信号去调制载波(高频电流、电压或光波)幅度,使载波幅度大小连续地随被测信息信号值线性地变化。角度调制包括相位调制(PM)与频率调制(FM),是用被测信息信号去调制载波的相位与频率,使载波的相位与频率随被测信息信号值连续地线性变化。脉冲调制是在满足采样定理的条件下对被测信息信号值进行采样,采样点在时间上是离散的,但采样幅值是连续的。将此采样值去调制在时间上与采样点相对应的脉冲幅度、脉冲宽度与脉冲相位,分别称为脉冲幅度调制(PAM)、脉冲宽度调制(PDM)与脉冲相位调制 (PPM)。此时,脉冲的幅度或宽度或相位均连续地随对应采样值线性地变化。脉冲调制中,脉冲幅度调制最易实现,所占频带较窄,但抗干扰性较宽带调频差。模拟式遥测系统除上述最基本的调制方法外,还采用二重或三重调制。如调频-调频(FM-FM),调相-调频(PM-FM),脉冲调幅-调频-调频(PAM-FM-FM)等方式。
