位于西湖西北角，四面环水，一山独特，山虽不高，却是观赏西湖景色最佳之地。
孤山既是风景胜地，又是文物荟萃之处，南麓有文澜阁、西湖天下景、浙江博物馆和中山公园，山顶西部有西泠印社，西麓有秋瑾之墓，东北坡有放鹤亭等。其中放鹤亭是为纪念宋代隐居诗人林和靖而建，他有梅妻鹤子之传说。亭外广植梅花，为湖上赏梅胜地。
交通：乘游1、2、3路到岳庙站下车，步行前往或乘西湖游船到中山公园上岸。
