靠山镇位于吉林省农安县东北部，伊通河北岸的松花江畔，农安、德惠、扶余三县（市）交界处。地理坐标为东经125°39′，北纬44°46′。幅员面积88平方公里。属温带大陆性气候区，四季分明，年平均降雨量425毫米。镇辖11个行政村，1个街道办事处，122个村民小组。全镇总人口29,027人，其中农业人口25,159人。现有农村劳动力16,300人。全镇耕地面积5,335公顷，盛产玉米、水稻、谷子、黄烟、瓜菜等农副产品。镇内商贸经济比较发达，是周边乡镇的商品集散中心。个体、私营工商业户发展到600多户。农靠公路、德靠公路、青靠公路、中央大路，以镇区为中心，呈放射状分部，交通十分便利。镇内电力供应充足，有二次变电所1座，主变容量为4000kva，由东北电网高压线66kv接入。镇内有电视差转台1座，辐射半径可达20公里，有线电视已走进千家万户；程控电话装机容量为6 ,400门，市话普及率达到85%；镇内有中心小学、初中、高中学校各1所，村小学9所；有中心卫生院1个， 11个村级卫生所。2002年投资新建了全县一流的敬老院，为孤寡老人提供了良好的生活环境。全镇经济和社会协调发展。
