| 塔台 control tower 机场或航空港内指挥飞机滑行、起飞、着陆和实行空中交通管制的设施。又称管制塔台或指挥塔台。塔台的高度因机场规模不同而异。大型机场塔台高度可达60米以上，居高临下，能俯视全机场。塔台顶层一般用玻璃围成。现代塔台为了防止天气变化时玻璃结露，采用内充氮气的双层气密玻璃窗。飞行指挥（管制）人员在顶层工作，顶层内设有管制雷达的荧光屏、通信设备、电视和计算机等。塔台对飞机活动的指挥主要有3方面 ：①引导飞机起飞和管理距机场一定距离范围内的飞行活动。②引导飞机进场着陆。③指挥飞机在地面上滑行。塔台与飞机之间主要用无线电通信设备联络，并配有能连续或断续发射白色、绿色或红色光信号的强光信号枪，作为辅助指挥手段。
