Growth curve of shell length was investigated in the research by taking Pinctada martensii(Dünker) as the experimental subject,five growth models,Brody,von Bertalanffy,Gompertz,Logistic and Richards,were chosen as the candidates for fitting the growth model of shell length in Pinctada martensii with the purpose of establishing the optimum growth equation of shell length,based upon Cp criterion.

This paper has studied the relationships between shell length (L) and whole body′s wet weight(W),dry weight of shell (S).

Through the monthly measurement on the shell length,shell width,total weight,weight of body mass,shell weight and weight of pearls of the freshwater pearl mussel Hyriopsis cumingii from May to November,the growth pattern of the 2 year old pearl mussel in its main growing season and its correlation with the growth of the pearls were studied.

The results showed that the shell length growth rate,superoxide dismutase (SOD),catalase (CAT) and metallothionein (MT),but not glutathione (GSH),were highly sensitive to Cd stress,and hepatopancreatic SOD and CAT were especially sensitive to the chronic stress of low levels of sediment Cd.

The temperature flied distribution and deformation in the mould of thin slab were calculated,moreover,the regularity of shell growth and shrinkage was obtained.
