均衡价格策略企业以某产品在市场供需平衡时的价格作为定价依据的策略。它是该商品的需求价格和供给价格相一致时的价格。需求价格是消费者对一定量商品所愿意支付的价格，供给价格是生产者为提供一定量商品所愿意接受的价格，两者相一致也就是这种商品的市场需求曲线与市场供给曲线相交的价格。均衡价格不同于生产价格，是在生产价格的基础上由供求关系决定的市场价格，即供求平衡时的价格。在中国，目前普遍采用的价格策略是成本加成法，即产品的成本加上一定水平的利润作为其价格，这种价格往往是企业的供给价格。在市场竞争的条件下，其价格量有可能低于或高于市场均衡价格。当低于市场均衡价格时，企业将减少利润;当高于市场均衡价格时，除紧俏产品外，企业有可能发生产品滞销，市场占有率下降等情况。为了避免定价偏高或偏低，采用均衡价格策略很有必要。运用这一策略时，企业需要较准确地预测和掌握该产品在市场上的供给状况和需求状况，在此基础上分析研究目前供求是否平衡，明确供求平衡点的所在，最后再确定出该产品的近似均衡价格，并在价格弹性范围内，使其产品定价与当前供求状况及其发展趋势相适应。由于均衡价格是在交换领域中形成的，它反映了一定的市场供求状况。企业还可以利用均衡价格策略所反映的情况来决定企业的生产规模和作为调整生产经营方向的依据。
