The condition and meaning as well as the restrictive factors of the development of small scale hydropower station in Jiangxi province were introduced and measures and suggestions of the development were put forward.

Although the development of rural hydroelectricity is quite great in the last few years, there are some problems and inconsistency handicapping the virtuous development of rural hydroelectricity, which have not been settled well, and this handicaps the rapid development of rural hydroelectricity of Jilin province and national economy.
