野外调查表明 ,口泉断裂断错了断面附近的 3级地貌面 ,包括大同盆地西侧全新世形成的洪积扇后缘及位于洪积扇冲沟内的Ⅰ ,Ⅱ级阶地。

卫星图片显示穿过大泉断裂的水系有被左行扭曲的特征,结合野外断层面上擦痕、断裂带中劈理观测统计和室内对断层岩显微构造的分析,确定了大泉断裂是以左行为主的走滑断裂带。

A test of drillhole exploration was implemented across the northern segment of Nankou-Sunhe Fault buried under Beijing plain.
文中采用钻探技术对南口-孙河断裂带进行了试验探测研究,并通过层序地层学、岩性岩相分析、磁化率分析与年代测定等方法建立了钻孔联合剖面,进而研究了断层距今60ka以来的多期活动特征,得出断裂带的3个活跃期是60～47kaBP、36～28kaBP与16kaBP以来,其余时段为相对平静期。

六泉口距五溪3公里，“五九”公路东侧，一口浅水池，长3米，深不逾1米，莹澈见底。池中有6个井眼，常年不竭，流沙喷涌，如吐金花，故有“六泉口”、“金沙泉”之称。相传元末常遇春、徐达率部与陈友谅激战九华山时，曾掘此泉供兵马饮用。如今“六泉”由九华山银杏矿泉公司开发成优质矿泉饮品。院内建有六角古井亭。
