性质:沸点224~224.5℃(101.06kPa)。熔点-43.5℃±0.1℃。相对密度0.9875。折射率1.4342。与八甲基环四硅氧烷性能相似,在微量硅醇钠、硅醇钾或少量浓硫酸作用下,Si-O-Si键断裂重排,生成直链的聚硅氧烷和环状硅氧烷的混合物。  Si-CH=CH2键在有机过氧化物存在下,可进行游离基聚合反应。在铂催化剂存在下,可与Si—H键发生加成反应。可由甲基乙烯基二氯硅烷的水解料催化裂解来制取。用来合成有机硅中间体及高分子化合物提供活性交联点之用,是制备硅橡胶不可缺少的原料之一。
