本文通过对四川盆地龙潭向斜铀矿(化)点附近砂岩之中铁化特征的研究,经镜下鉴定和电子探针分析发现铁质分为三类,即碎屑状磁铁矿、胶结物状赤铁矿、薄膜状褐铁矿,通过对其矿物成分及成岩环境的鉴定和判别,认为该区含铁物质并非后生蚀变而成,而是沉积形成的一种特殊结构构造。
