通过透视或阅读X线片，详细了解被检查部位的解剖结构和功能有无异常，并结合患者病史、临床体征、实验室检查结果，综合分析各种X线征象，提出较切合实际的诊断意见。X线诊断是通过病理性X线征象来诊断疾病的，因此应注意以下几点：①疾病早期，X线征象不明显，不应排除疾病，如急性化脓性骨髓炎早期缺乏骨膜反应及骨质破坏和增生性改变，仅出现软组织肿胀，不能就此否定骨髓炎的可能；②疾病X线征象不典型时，应和其他疾病鉴别，把X线改变和临床资料密切结合进行辨证分析；③疾病在治疗过程中有自身变化的规律，定期复查X线检查，不仅有助于评定疗效和判断预后，亦有利于对病情进行回顾性分析与研究，从而可修正诊断。
