中国第1部木活字印本。据元代王祯《农书》自序及卷二十二后附 《造活字印书法》 记载，他在任安徽旌德县尹时，根据自己设想，"命匠创活字，二年而工毕"，得3万余木活字，试印全书有6万余字的《旌德县志》， 不到一个月， 印成百部。据考，王祯任旌德县尹始于元贞元年 (1295) ，完成县志试印当是大德二年(1298)。该书印刷质量如同雕版，而工、费则既省又快。王祯称之为"印书省便之法"。印本在明代万历年间已佚。
