Having investigated the stability status of slope embankment of Qinghai-Tibet railway in permafrost regions,something is found that,in the operating period,low-fill slope embankment is the structure which is prone to produce disease,and the longitudinal cracks which as the main disease forms,directly affects the stability of slope embankment.

The influence of different widths of bermes upon the stability,overtopping and stress on the parapet wall of a rubble mound breakwater under the action of waves was analyzed with model testing,on the basis of which the width of the berme to armour a rubble mound breakwater was modified,thus optimizing the width of the berme.
