九门口关城
九门口偌大的关城,横陈在条石铺砌的河滩之上,两端与峭壁相衔,九座巨大的拱形水门巍然耸立,一字排开,雄踞于两山之间的峡谷之上。在中央门洞的顶楣上,书写着“一片石”几个大字。城下有堑名九江口,为九门水道,每至汛期,九江河水穿关奔涌而下,远观如银河倒悬,仙阙凌空。九门口雄关依山傍水,环绕长城,关随长城走,长城绕关行,给人一种气势磅礴,风纵云生之感。
远望九门口,其形如多孔桥,却与交通无关,说它非桥,顶部却宽如坦途,可以并排行驶几辆大卡车。只是那威严整齐的城墙垛口和两侧高耸的敌楼,明确地告诉我们,这是拒敌的屏障,是长城的重要关隘。
九门口左面山上,古长城巨龙一般腾越于崇山峻岭间,巨龙背上驮着的一座座敌楼有十几座之多。右面山上的长城,是一色青砖。登上城楼侧耳静听那山风声、松涛声、虫鸣鸟叫声这大自然的交响曲,凝神看着那崇山峻岭、苍山如海的雄浑风景画,很难想像这里曾是战马嘶鸣的古战场。如今,九门口关城已失去它本来的价值,但它“一关(口)九门”的雄伟气势,充分体现了我国古代劳动人民的聪明才智,是中华民族的宝贵遗产,列入国家邮政局以长城为内容的第29套普通邮票，被国务院列为全国重点文物保护单位
