线性系统数学模型的具体表达式。线性系统按其输入输出的个数区分为只有一个输入和一个输出的单变量线性系统和多于一个输入和输出的多变量线性系统。单变量线性系统的结构完全由模型的阶和滞后（见时滞系统）唯一确定，也就是说给定了阶和滞后就完全决定了模型的具体形式。多变量线性系统的结构是指它在某种意义下的规范型的结构，它是由称为克罗内克不变量的整数组和相应的有序实数组所组成的独立、完备不变量组唯一确定的。既然线性系统的结构是由一组参数唯一确定，因而就有可能通过输入输出数据采用辨识的方法确定其结构。
