    用金、银、铜等金属细丝编织、堆垒、平填、镶嵌而成的传统金属工艺品。战国时期中国花丝已与金银错和镶嵌等工艺相结合。河北定州西汉墓出土的 花丝“辟邪”、“群羊”、“龙头”等是最早的实物。明代花丝发展形成高潮,并有不少精品,如明定陵出土的金丝皇冠和凤冠,编织、堆垒技艺精湛。清代光绪三十四年(1908),四川成都创制平填花丝制品,有盘、盒、瓶、领花、戒指等。花丝以北京、成都为主要产地。北京花丝多与镶嵌结合,以编织、堆垒见长。欣赏品有炉、熏、建筑、人物、动物等。其中建筑类作品制作较复杂,需运用堆垒、编织、掐丝、镶嵌等多种技法。日用品有手镜、烟盒、粉盒、糖盒、酒具、花插等。成都银丝制品无胎成型、结构严谨、纹样清晰,玲珑剔透,富于变化,以平填花丝技法为主。优秀作品有“丹凤展翅”、“孔雀开屏”大挂盘,以及“玉羽迎春”挂瓶。
