产品寿命周期
产品寿命周期一个产品完成试制定型以后，从投入市场开始，到被淘汰停产为止所经历的时间。它以市场的需求变化为依据。任何一种产品的寿命周期都包括四个阶段，即投入期、成长期、成熟期和衰退期。从投入期到衰退期，产品销售量形成一条曲线，称产品经济寿命曲线。投入期，是新产品投入市场的初始阶段、试销阶段，销售量增长缓慢而不稳定，销售收入不足以弥补生产成本和销售费用，不仅不能提供利润，反会出现亏损。企业要采取有效措施，努力改善工艺，提高生产效率，降低成本，提高质量，尽量缩短这一阶段，使产品尽快进入成长期。成长期，是新产品开始被消费者接受，销售量迅速增长的阶段。这时产量大幅度上升，成本下降，利润迅速增长，是决定性阶段，企业务必采取措施，促使产品高速成长并进入成熟期。这一阶段年销售量增长率可达10%以上。成熟期，是产品的主要销售阶段。产品在这个阶段所提供的利润达到最高水平。这一阶段的年销售量增长率可达1%~5%。衰退期，是产品逐渐老化，不能适应市场需要，销售量锐减，直至为市场所淘汰的阶段。这一阶段年销售量不是增长，而是下降。企业应当积极采取措施延长产品寿命周期，其措施有:①改进产品包装、装演及外观质量，提高产品的吸引力。②对产品做部分设计更改并扩大产品服务对象。③开发产品的用途，发展一物多用，以促进销售量的增长。④改进产品结构，提高基本功能、辅助功能，开拓新市场，争取新用户，以形成产品寿命周期的再循环。如以上措施不见效，企业就应做好下马准备，该收即收，把力量及早转移，用于创新方面。研究产品寿命周期及其各阶段的特点，有利于企业进行正确的经营决策，抓住时机，获取最大经济利益，并可以指导和规划新产品的开发工作，以保持企业竞争力和利润水平。
