又称双溶剂萃取，利用两种互溶度很小的溶剂以实现液体混合物完善分离的萃取方法。通常从级联（或萃取塔）中部加入料液，从级联的两端分别加入两种溶剂（见图），使料液中的两种(或两组)组分，分别优先溶入一种溶剂中。与料液不甚互溶的溶剂称为萃取剂。萃取剂进口至料液进口间各级称为萃取段，其间进行一般的逆流萃取。与料液完全互溶的溶剂称为洗涤剂。洗涤剂进口至料液进口间各级称为洗涤段，实质上是难萃组分的反萃段。
对性质相近的组分作萃取分离时，依靠分配系数的差别只能取得一定程度的分离。分部萃取用洗涤剂对萃取液作部分反萃取，让难萃组分优先进入洗涤剂中。洗涤虽然使萃取液浓度下降，但难萃组分下降得更多，从而提高了组分的分离程度。不论在湿法冶金或石油炼制行业，都采用分部萃取来提高产品的纯度。
