性质:又称萱草根素。黄色粉末(丙酮:水=1:1),243℃变为棕色,熔点266~269℃(分解)。橘红色结晶(甲酰二甲胺),240℃变为棕色,熔点268~269℃(分解)。可溶于氢氧化钠、碳酸钠、乙醇钠及浓硫酸溶液,不溶于一般的有机溶剂,为弱酸性物质。来源于百合科植物麝香萱(Hemerocallis thunbergii Bak. )的根,小萱草(H.mimor Mill. )的根。为萱草根治疗血吸虫病的有效成分,动物实验显示可使两性虫体明显萎缩并使生殖器官退化。其毒性与疗效呈平行关系。
