为龙胆科植物五岭龙胆的全草。
【植物形态】
五岭龙胆,又名:簇花龙胆。 多年生草本,高6.5~15厘米,全体光滑。根茎短,细根呈条状,淡黄色。茎从叶丛斜升,常3~5枝。基生叶呈莲座状,叶片披针形,长5~8厘米,稍肉质,有不明显的3出脉,全缘,无柄;茎生叶披针形,长2.2~4厘米,最下部的叶长不满1.5厘米,基部成短鞘。花3~7朵,簇生于茎顶;萼筒5裂,线状披针形;花冠钟状,浅紫蓝色,5浅裂,花冠周褶三角形,对称;雄蕊5,着生冠管上;子房上位,一室,胚珠极多数,柱头2,近无柄。蒴果狭长,成熟时2瓣裂。花期9~10月。果期10~11月。 生于山坡、丘陵地阴湿林下、林缘、裸岩旁及路边草丛中分布浙江、江西、福建、湖南、广东、广西。

性凉,味苦。
【功用主治】
清热解毒,利尿明目。治化脓性骨髓炎,尿路感染,结膜炎,疖、痈。
【用法与用量】
内服:煎汤,0.5~2两。外用:捣敷。
【选方】
①治化脓性骨髓炎:鲤鱼胆、筋骨草、一枝黄花、蒲公英、紫花地丁各一两,葨芝、野菊花各五钱。水煎服。 ②治结膜炎:鲤鱼胆五钱,金银花三钱,徐长卿一钱。水煎服。
