妙高台位于飞雪亭西约5 0 0米，又名妙高峰、天柱峰。海拔3 9 6 米。顶上有坪如台，名妙高台，约3 5 0 平方米。东西南三面均是峭壁，云雾四合，如置仙境。云雾初开，凭栏四眺，爽风迎面，松涛盈耳，近峦远岗，仪态万千；台下亭下湖嵌镶群峰间，被光岚影，别有风情。宋代楼钥《妙高峰》诗：“一峰高出白云端，俯瞰东南千万山，试向岗头转圆石，不知何日到人 间”。
清初，妙高台北首，建栖云庵。1 7 2 6 年（雍正四年）筑石奇禅师舍利塔。1 9 3 0 年蒋介石建中西合璧别墅，大门内两旁平房各1 间，平顶阳台。天井后3 间2 层楼房，楼上水泥走廊与阳台相连，中门置白底黑字匾，“妙高台”三字，系蒋介石手书。其后平方3 间。围墙连成一体，总建筑面积4 3 6 平方米。右侧山岩并列亭子2 座，形式各异。1 9 6 8 年秋被毁，1 9 8 7 年国家拨款重建。新辟公路支线，连接浒溪公路。
