| 硬锰矿 psilomelane 理想化学式一般为  的钡硬锰矿。锰的重要矿石矿物。单斜晶系。一般呈葡萄状、肾状、钟乳状或块状产出。铁黑至暗钢灰色，条痕呈发亮的棕黑色。半金属光泽或暗淡。莫氏硬度5～6 ，比重4.71。通常是在地表或近地表条件下，由含锰的碳酸盐或硅酸盐矿物风化而形成的一种次生矿物。通常与软锰矿共同产出。可形成大规模的残留矿床。
硬锰矿也是一般性术语，在野外用来泛指锰矿物的天然混合物；或指以含锰为主，但化学成分未确切鉴定的、呈黑色块状或葡萄状、肾状等形态且硬度较高的天然氧化物和氢氧化物。含水，一般呈土状而硬度较低的则称为锰土。 |
