Through introducing the experiment of surveying Yellow River base rock by 5 pole vertical axis depth sounding method,this paper proves the 5 vertical axis depth sounding method is more effective and then in theory it analyzes the reason why surveying base rock by using 5 vertical axis depth sounding method is more effective than by 4 Symmetrical depth sounding and why its resolution is higher.
