实验水力学经典著作。作者是爱尔兰人R.曼宁,1816年生于诺曼底，1897年逝世。他曾任市政工程办公室主任工程师和爱尔兰土木工程师协会主席。本书稿于1889年提交该协会，次年刊登在该会学报第20卷上，作者修正了以前的阻力公式缺陷，提出了有关均匀流流速的新公式，即，式中K为实验系数；R为水力半径；J为水力坡度。
