The article approaches to constructional waterproofing design for substructure work in terms of reasonable definition of waterproofing grade,appro- priate choice of structural form,optimum design of construction joint,strength of material used in the main structure as well as reinforcement layout.

First,the waterproof grade should be determined reasonably,and the relevant waterproof conditions and requirements should be put forward.

The code clearly raises a “rigid-soft combination” waterproof design principle,specifies waterproof grade for varied underground works and relevant construction scheme.

Through analysis the long-period open leakage questions in the building roof,the waterproof grade determination,waterproof plan establishment,waterproof material choice,roof bailing design and waterproof joints design in the roof waterproof were discussed so as to resolve the roof leakage questions,therefore guarantee the building quality.
