Based on the punching shearing capacity formulas of the rectangular reinforced concrete foundations in the National Standard Code for Design of Building Foundation GB 50007—2002, the formulas for calculating the effective depth of single reinforced concrete foundation under column (h0) has been deduced which are simpler and more practical.
