This paper, based on teaching practice of listening classes, conducts a preliminary inquiry from the following four respects: the mastering of basic linguistic knowledge, the fiexible application of listening skills, the acquatintance with cultural background knowledge and psychological training.

：The improving of one s listerning ability depends on a basic knowledge of the language，on the quickening of the listening speed，on the enhancement of memory，and on the accurate application of listening skills.

If the students know their weak points and grasp some listening techniques and practice more they will have an increasing listening ability.

If they want to pass the examination,they must get rid of such kind of barriers and improve their listening techniques.

This has something to do with English education management and students themselves,such as poor schedule,poor choice of text books,inefficient teaching method,students\' attitude towards English study,their basic linguistic skills,lack of a knowledge of English culture and listening skills as well.

This paper illustrates how to enhance students’comprehensive listening competence from the various aspects such as English knowledge,listening technique,culture and knowledge range.
