上海建桥学院，全称为上海建桥职业技术学院，创办于2000年4月，是经上海市人民政府正式批准成立的一所全日制民办高校，享有普通高等院校的同等待遇，具有独立颁发大专学历文凭资格。院址坐落在上海市级开发区――浦东康桥工业区内，紧邻张江高科园区，处于外环线（环南一大道）以内。
学院由浙江省温州市实业家周星增等人士共同出资举办，总投资约为5亿元人民币，校园占地面积439亩，规划建筑面积为22万平方米，办学规模为在校生7000－8000人，其中一、二、三期工程投资近3亿元，建筑面积12万余平方米，已建成投入使用。
学院于2000年秋季开学，现有在校生5800余人，下设信息技术系、商贸系、管理系、外语系、艺术设计系等5个系，设有：计算机技术与应用、工商管理、商务英语、涉外文秘，建筑装饰技术（室内设计）、土木工程施工与管理（房屋建筑工程）、房地产经营管理、广告艺术设计、旅游管理实务、电子商务、新闻传播、信息管理与计算机应用、物流管理、微电子技术、摄影摄像艺术、装潢艺术设计、国际贸易和商务日语等18个专业。
学院师资力量较为雄厚。现有专职教师180余名，兼任教师近200名，师资队伍中拥有高级职称的人数占60%左右。聘请中国科学院院士、中国工程院院士、原同济大学校长李国豪教授担任名誉院长；知名教育管理专家、原上海电视大学校长黄清云教授任本院院长；主要学科及专业负责人均由上海著名院校资深教授和专家担纲组成。
学院综合办学条件优良，基本设施齐备。拥有计算与信息中心、电教新闻中心和语音中心等大量先进的教学科研设施和仪器设备：校园网络接口通达每个教室、办公室和学生寝室；学院图书馆为上海市高校网络图书馆成员，可利用的图书资源达200多万册；各类体育运动场馆设施齐全；学生公寓规格高，条件好。
