“联合空对面防区外导弹”(jassm)agm-158是美国海空军提出研制的一种远程空对地导弹,用于取代“三军通用防区外攻击导弹”tssam计划。jassm的使命与tssam相同,也是用来从敌防空区外距离精确打击严密设防的高价值目标,如敌指挥、控制、通信、计算机和情报的主要节点、发电厂、工业设施、重要桥梁、弹道导弹发射架和舰船等目标。这种导弹要求具有雷达隐形能力。
美国空军采用英国casom的采办策略来采办jassm,即从已有的或正在研制的导弹中选择一种进行一些重大技术改进来满足其特有的战术技术要求。据报道,竞争者有休斯公司的“战斧”巡航导弹的一种改型“天鹰”、洛克希德.马丁/拉斐尔公司的agm-142涡喷推进型“突眼3”、麦道公司的“增强型斯拉姆”(slam-er)、罗克韦尔公司的agm-130e和得克萨斯仪表公司的“联合防区外武器”(jsow)的涡喷推进型。诺斯洛普格鲁门公司也提出一种采用tssam中的某些部件的设计。这些竞争设计中很多也是参与英国“常规装备防区外导弹”(casom)的竞争设计方案。最后,洛克希德.马丁和麦道公司赢得了jassm的第一阶段研制合同。
为jassm制定的三个参数是射程290-320km,任务效能及机载适应性。同时规定导弹的单价上限为70万美元,获胜的承包商对导弹单价的报价要低于50万美元。
