利用金属或半导体的电阻值随温度变化的原理制成的传感器﹐是温度测量仪表中常用的一种温度测温组件。金属热电阻的电阻值随温度上升而增大﹐常用的有铂热电阻(测温范围为-200～＋850℃)﹑铜热电阻(-50～＋150℃)和镍热电阻(-60～＋180℃)3种。热电阻大多是用直径 0.04～0.1毫米的纯金属丝绕在片状或棒状的云母﹑玻璃﹑陶瓷或胶木骨架上制成的。在工业应用中它一般装在金属保护套管内﹐以防止损坏﹔也有做成铠装的。热电阻的外形与热电偶相似。铂热电阻复现性好﹐性能稳定﹐精确度高﹐在精密测温和控温中广泛应用。半导体热敏电阻也是常用的一种热电阻﹐它的电阻值随温度上升而减小。其特点是灵敏度高﹐体积小﹐反应速度快﹐但互换性较差﹐测温范围为-100～＋300℃。
